Historic market town and capital of the old Montgomeryshire.

Castle ruins to run around, or take a stroll up to the war memorial with its amazing views.

Or in the town itself there’s the museum and Bunners.

Food from Ivy House Cafe, Castle Kitchen and Deli, The Checker’s Pantry.

The High Street Delicatessen is just amazing, run by a fantastic couple - pop in for a coffee and cake, buy some amazing Welsh small-batch gin and other Welsh produce as well as hand picked top quality produce from other parts of the UK and the world.
The cheese selection is ridiculous.

The Hafren theatre.
The Oriel art gallery.
Family run Cinema.
Ten pin bowling - family run 2 lanes - great fun.
The Waggon and Horses - great food.

Welshpool

Powis Castle
Steam railway.
Redwood forest.
Lunch and watch the planes at the airport cafe.
The Flash - swim and gym.
Canal walk to Berriew - eat at the Lion Hotel or Nag’s Head.
